Journeyman Electrician

This position will be physically located in Kuwait in support of LOGCAP.
Under supervision of the Master Electrician, the electrician installs, inspects, troubleshoots, repairs, operates, and maintains electrical systems and components of electrical power distribution and generating equipment. Responsibilities include maintaining power to telecommunications equipment and ensuring the facility's electrical distribution system is in good repair. Electrical work experience should include installation in commercial and industrial settings, adhering to NEC 2008 standards for repairs and upgrades, and NEC 2011 standards for new construction, contract specifications, and MIL Standards/Regulations.
ResponsibilitiesThis description is subject to change as needed to meet program or company requirements.
- Install, inspect, troubleshoot, repair, operate, and maintain electrical systems and components.
- Perform operations and maintenance duties to ensure power supply to telecommunications equipment and maintain the electrical distribution system.
- Experience in electrical installation in commercial and industrial sectors.
- Comply with NEC 2008 for existing construction repairs and upgrades, and NEC 2011 for new construction, contract specifications, and MIL Standards.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Education/Certifications: High School Diploma or equivalent. One-year related experience may substitute for one year of education if a degree is required. Must be CAC eligible and/or able to obtain a CAC. Must possess a Journeyman Electrician license. Ability to obtain and maintain a host country driver's license.
- Experience: 5 to 7 years in the electrical wiring industry, including planning, laying out, and installing electrical distribution systems according to NEC standards, under supervision of a qualified electrician.
- Skills: Knowledge of Electrical Codes, ability to manage multiple sites, effective communication skills, safety awareness, basic computer skills.
- Working Conditions: Ability to work in extreme weather conditions exceeding 120°F, in hot, dry, desert environments, and industrial settings.
- Physical Requirements: Light work exerting up to 20 pounds occasionally, with potential for heavy lifting, climbing, prolonged standing/sitting, and working with PPE. Must comply with all safety regulations.
- Working Conditions: Ability to work in extreme weather conditions exceeding 120°F, in hot, dry, desert environments, and industrial settings.
- Skills: Knowledge of Electrical Codes, ability to manage multiple sites, effective communication skills, safety awareness, basic computer skills.
- Experience: 5 to 7 years in the electrical wiring industry, including planning, laying out, and installing electrical distribution systems according to NEC standards, under supervision of a qualified electrician.
