This position is part of the on-site C-17 Field Services Team supporting the Kuwait Air Force customer at Al Mubarak Airbase. The team works directly with the customer, providing real-time, time critical and dynamic assistance at the point of delivery.

Role Description

We are looking to hire a Field Services Customer Engineer as part of the on-site C-17 Field Services Engineering and Technical Support (FETS) team. In this role you will be responsible for:

  1. Participating in resolving complex operational problems that require a high level of ingenuity, innovation, and coordination with the Kuwait customer and other Boeing entities.
  2. Providing the Kuwait customer troubleshooting and repair guidance.
  3. Providing assistance with the interpretation of technical documents to ensure the intent and purpose of the documentation is understood and followed.
  4. Providing specialized on-the-job training by explaining the theory of operations and demonstrating basic operating, maintenance, servicing procedures, and troubleshooting techniques.
  5. Investigating and pursuing courses of action necessary to safely support Kuwait missions including assistance with spares supply and support equipment.
  6. Documenting field site activities by preparing and transmitting publication change requests, continuous process improvement data, and technical reports to provide status of product or customer issues and developments.
  7. Travel to other operating locations to assist with operation, maintenance, and recovery of any operators C-17 aircraft may be required.

Typical Education / Experience

Required Experience

You will require an engineering degree in an accredited and relevant subject (aerospace, Electrical, Mechanical or equivalent). This position requires the ability to work independently under time constraints and stress, in a demanding, on-call, around the clock operational environment. Experience on C-17 or similar widebody fleet aircraft.

Desirable Experience

Prior knowledge of Non-Destructive Inspection techniques, circuit knowledge, Computer Aided Design (CAD) and the interpretation of engineering drawings is desirable. Ideally you will have a strong background in the Electrical/Avionic systems and/or mechanical/airframe repairs, system operation, maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of aircraft hydro-mechanical, and propulsion systems. Prior experience in troubleshooting complex integrated systems, within an operational environment is desirable.

You will be dealing with the Boeing Globemaster III, C-17, a highly complex aircraft, and a proven background in supporting an aviation product in the field, and that you can demonstrate that you have the experience and ability to perform the functions listed beforehand will identify you as a suitable candidate.

This role will require that a suitable applicant is enrolled onto a United States Air Force sanctioned C-17 Delegated Engineering Authority (DEA) programme. This Program is conducted through on-the-job training and will include certain travel opportunities to other Boeing C-17 facilities, around the world, to achieve the required standard. The Programme will take approximately 2-4 years (depending on prior experience).

Have a "can-do" attitude and the ability to work on multiple tasks when under pressure. Flexible approach to resolve competing demands without compromising technical or programme integrity.

Relocation: This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility.

Security Clearance: The successful applicant will require local clearances as required by the role. This requisition is for an international, locally hired position in Kuwait. Benefits and pay are determined at the local level and are not part of Boeing U.S.-based payroll and will commensurate with experience and qualifications and in accordance with applicable Kuwait law. Employment is subject to the candidate's ability to satisfy all Kuwait labor and immigration formalities.
