Job Description

This role is responsible for supporting the financial management and operations of the company under the guidance of the Finance Controller.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Accounts Closing & Financial Preparation
  • Evaluate accounting accuracy through adequate validation and checks.
  • Prepare statutory financials every quarter for all entities in the Business Unit.
  • Maintain intercompany reconciliations every month, confirming balances with counterparty.
  • Complete Business Risk Statement (BRS) every month, ensuring no open items remain beyond the last week of the month.
  • Prepare year-end statutory financials in compliance with applicable Accounting Standards, reviewed for accuracy and submitted to Statutory Auditors with necessary supporting information and sign-off within prescribed timelines.
  • Submit and close all queries and additional information requested by Statutory Auditors within set timelines.
  • Analyze and review provisions on a monthly basis for adequacy.
  • Maintain adequate Capital Expenditure (CAPEX) control in the Business Unit, processing additions in compliance with policy, justifying and comparing quotes, verifying assets, tagging variances, reporting adjustments, and obtaining appropriate approvals.
  • Adequately configure financial systems/modules (ERP, EPM, SAP, CDK, etc.) with necessary controls and validation checks.
  • Receivables & Payables Control
  • Ensure an effective Receivables monitoring and collection process exists in the Business Unit, adhering to Group Credit Control policy.
  • Document necessary information to facilitate recovery of dues in case of legal action.
  • Exchange monthly statements and quarterly balance confirmations with customers, collecting dues within approved credit periods.
  • Create adequate provision as per Group policy, compared to Expected Credit Loss (ECL) method under IFRS 9, maintaining whichever is higher.
  • Manage Payables effectively, implementing a procure-to-pay process, periodically reviewing vendor credit terms, reconciling vendor balances monthly, and obtaining quarterly balance confirmations.
  • Cash Flow Management
  • Plan and execute to maintain positive cash flows month-over-month, ensuring no idle cash remains in the Business by repaying loans or investing in fixed deposits.
  • Immediately inform GT of major unexpected collections and payments for effective cash management.
  • Overhead Control
  • Support GIA initiatives and verifications comprehensively.
  • Coordinate compliance/responses with respective stakeholders, submitting them within stipulated timelines.
  • Escalate overdue High-Risk open items for priority resolution and coordinate timely closure.
  • Follow up and close all action items assigned to Business stakeholders within agreed timelines.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Bachelor's Degree and Master's degree with a minimum of 10-15 years of professional experience in Accounts/Finance.
  • Hold a qualified finance professional certification such as CA/CPA/CMA/ACCA.
  • Proven work experience at Managerial Level or similar role for at least 5 years, with exposure to Automotive Trading/Engineering/EPC/Contracting/Construction/Remittance/Insurance.
  • Strong knowledge of business analytics combined with advanced technical skills, working with different stakeholders.
  • Experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and advanced financial systems to improve efficiency, transparency, and decision-making.
  • Experience in overseeing Supply Chain Management (SCM), Inventory, Warehouse & Logistics Management.
