  • Financial Reporting: Oversee the accurate and timely preparation of financial statements, budgets, and reports for management.
  • General Ledger Management: Maintain and reconcile the general ledger, ensuring all account balances are accurate.
  • Month-End & Year-End Close: Lead and support the month-end and year-end closing processes.
  • Financial Analysis: Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and provide recommendations for financial planning and strategic decision-making.
  • Compliance & Auditing: Ensure adherence to financial regulations, Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), and coordinate with internal and external auditors and tax authorities.
  • Internal Controls: Develop and implement internal controls and accounting policies to safeguard company assets and improve financial processes.
  • Staff Oversight: Provide leadership, guidance, and mentorship to junior accounting staff and bookkeepers.
  • Cash Flow Management: Monitor cash flow and liquidity to ensure the company's financial health.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Education: A bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance is typically required.
  • Experience: A minimum of several years of progressive accounting experience, often including a senior or supervisory role.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency with accounting software and advanced MS Excel skills.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and quantitative skills to interpret financial data and make informed recommendations.
  • Attention to Detail: Exceptional accuracy and meticulousness in financial work.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: In-depth understanding of GAAP, financial standards, and business trends.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with various teams and manage junior staff.
