In this role, you will provide the highest standard of clinical care and expertise to patients in assessment, investigation, diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up in the NICU and related hospital units.

Required Skills and Qualifications

">
  • You are an experienced physician with advanced knowledge in neonatal medicine, committed to patient-centered care, and capable of collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Capability in diagnosing conditions affecting the internal organs;
  • Ability to work well and maintain composure even under extreme pressure;
  • Ability to work harmoniously with fellow physicians, nurses, pharmacists, and other hospital personnel;
  • Excellent communication skills in English and Arabic;
  • Strong ethical standards and commitment to patient confidentiality and privacy;
  • Attention to detail;
  • Adaptability to evolving medical practices, regulations, and technologies, ensuring the highest standard of care.
  • MBBS, Masters, and highest qualification (PHD/MD/Board/Fellowship);
  • Minimum of 15 years of experience; 9 years after high qualifications for a Consultant license;
  • Minimum of 9 years of experience; 3 years after high qualifications for a Specialist license;
  • NICU Consultant/Specialist licensed;
  • Currently available in Kuwait.

Responsibilities

  • Provide expert neonatal care for critically ill newborns, including premature infants, low birth weight infants, and those with congenital anomalies, respiratory distress, and infections.
  • Diagnose and manage various neonatal conditions, including respiratory failure, infections, cardiac anomalies, metabolic disorders, and neurological issues.
  • Perform invasive procedures such as intubation, lumbar puncture, chest tube insertion, and umbilical line placement.
  • Oversee care involving advanced therapies like CPAP, mechanical ventilation, and parenteral nutrition.
  • Participate in neonatal resuscitation and stabilization during emergencies.
  • Supervise and guide junior staff, including residents and fellows.
  • Maintain care standards aligned with current clinical guidelines.
  • Contribute to management strategies for high-risk pregnancies and delivery room resuscitations.
  • Lead family discussions regarding prognosis and treatment plans.
  • Mentor and train medical residents, fellows, and healthcare staff in neonatology.
  • Engage in clinical research to enhance patient outcomes.
