Cybersecurity Risk Manager

A career-defining opportunity has emerged at American International University for a highly skilled Cybersecurity Risk Manager. As a key member of our Information Technology team, you will play a pivotal role in safeguarding our university's digital assets from internal threats. With a strong emphasis on proactive security measures, you will be responsible for identifying and mitigating risks associated with faculty, staff, and student access to sensitive systems.
Job OverviewThis is a challenging and rewarding position that requires a deep understanding of cybersecurity protocols and procedures. As an Insider Threat Countermeasure Specialist, you will lead the charge in preventing unauthorized access to critical systems and data. Your expertise will be instrumental in ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
We are seeking an exceptional individual with 5-7 years of hands-on experience in cybersecurity, particularly in ethical hacking, incident response, and insider threat detection. If you possess certifications such as CEH (Certified Ethical Hacker), OSCP, or Comp TIA Security+, we want to hear from you. You will be part of a dynamic team committed to delivering top-notch security solutions that protect our university's reputation and assets.
Main Responsibilities- Develop and implement comprehensive risk management strategies to mitigate insider threats
- Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify potential security weaknesses
- Lead incident response efforts for internal security breaches, working closely with HR, legal, and IT teams
- Collaborate with the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) to review internal user permissions and enforce access control policies
- Provide training and education to faculty, staff, and students on cybersecurity best practices and university policies related to acceptable use of university systems and data
To succeed in this role, you will need:
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or a related field
- 5-7 years of hands-on experience in cybersecurity, with a focus on ethical hacking, incident response, and insider threat detection
- Certifications such as CEH (Certified Ethical Hacker), OSCP, or Comp TIA Security+
- Proficiency in monitoring tools, firewalls, IDS/IPS, and endpoint protection with insider threat detection capabilities
- Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on identifying and preventing insider threats
- Excellent communication skills to work effectively with various university departments
We offer a competitive salary of $80,000 - $110,000 per annum, commensurate with experience, as well as opportunities for professional growth and development. Our benefits package includes medical, dental, and vision coverage, retirement plan matching, and paid time off.
