Gulf Facilities General Trading & Contracting Company seeks an exceptional Assistant Professor to join its esteemed faculty in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Gulf University for Science and Technology (GUST).
About the Role
We are committed to achieving excellence in teaching, impactful research, and collaborative relationships with local and regional communities. The successful candidate will be expected to publish high-quality research in leading peer-reviewed journals and work in close collaboration with the research centers of the Graduate and Research office at GUST.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in Computer Engineering with a specialty in Computer Vision, Network/Cyber Security, Hardware in Artificial Intelligence, and Robotics
- Develop and maintain a strong research program that aligns with the department's goals and priorities
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop innovative curricula and programs that meet the needs of industry and academia
- Mentor students and provide guidance on academic and professional development
Requirements
The ideal candidate should possess excellent communication skills in English and must be ambitious, self-motivated, and hard-working, with the ability to work both individually and as part of a multidisciplinary team where scientific creativity is essential. A PhD in Computer Engineering or closely related field from a reputable North American (U.S. or Canada) or Western European university is required, along with at least three years of teaching experience after the doctoral degree.
About Gulf University for Science and Technology (GUST)
GUST was established in 2002 as Kuwait's first private American-model liberal arts university. The university currently offers several programs in Arts and Sciences, Engineering and Business, including an MBA degree. GUST is internationally accredited by various bodies, including ABET/CAC (Computer Science), ACA (Mass Communication), QAA (Institutional & English Department), AACSB (Business), NOSS (Foundation Program Unit), and CEA (Foundation Program in English).
