Financial Leadership Role

We are seeking a highly experienced and detail-oriented Financial Manager to lead and oversee financial operations, ensuring compliance with IFRS standards.

This role involves managing the accounting function, overseeing budget planning and execution, monitoring financial reporting, and working closely with auditors and department heads to maintain financial integrity and operational efficiency.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Financial Accounting Compliance: Ensure that all financial accounting activities adhere to IFRS standards and internal policies.
  • Chart of Accounts Management: Regularly assess and recommend improvements to the Chart of Accounts in coordination with senior management.
  • Daily Accounting Entries: Oversee the posting of daily accounting entries and monthly/annual closing processes.
  • General Ledger Management: Supervise general ledger activity and ensure timely resolution of discrepancies.
  • Invoice Processing: Validate and process invoices with supporting documents to ensure accurate and prompt payments.
  • Accounts Payable and Receivable: Monitor accounts payable and receivable, optimizing efficiency and accuracy in payment and collection processes.
  • Reconciliation: Manage reconciliation between general ledger and sub-ledgers and resolve inconsistencies.
  • Cash, Billing, and Receivables Reconciliations: Oversee cash, billing, and receivables reconciliations, ensuring timely recognition of revenues.
  • Allowances and Write-Offs: Assess allowances for doubtful debts and initiate write-offs as per IFRS standards.
  • Fixed Asset Register Management: Lead fixed asset register management, ensuring accurate capitalization, depreciation, disposals, and transfers.
  • Budget Planning and Execution: Coordinate the annual master budget (CAPEX, OPEX, STRATEX), ensuring departmental alignment and timely approvals.
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare periodic financial statements and management reports, highlighting key performance indicators, trends, and risks.
  • Audit Coordination: Coordinate with internal and external auditors, ensuring timely responses and resolution of audit queries.

Requirements and Skills:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Master's or CPA/ACCA certification is a plus).
  • Experience: Minimum of 8–10 years of relevant experience, preferably in FMCG or a fast-paced commercial environment.
  • IFRS Knowledge: Extensive knowledge of IFRS, budgeting, and financial reporting.
  • Operational Expertise: Strong understanding of accounts payable/receivable, general ledger operations, and fixed asset management.
  • Audit Experience: Proven experience working with auditors and managing audit processes.
  • Budget Consolidation: Experience in budget consolidation and variance analysis.
  • Technical Skills: Familiarity with ERP systems and financial tools.
