Orthopedic Specialist

As a Registrar of Orthopedics, you will be working under the supervision of an Orthopedic Consultant to provide a high-quality Orthopedic service. Your role will involve supporting the Orthopedic Consultants and specialists in their duties, including assessing patients from the Emergency Department and attending daily ward rounds with the Orthopedic team.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Assess patients from the Emergency Department and provide suitable treatment plans.
2. Attend daily ward rounds with the Orthopedic team to discuss patient progress and make informed decisions.
3. Review patients on a regular basis in accordance with the plan of care made by the attending consultant and inform the consultant of any issues or problems.
4. Document review findings in clinical notes in a timely and legible manner.
5. Cover Operating Room duties as assigned and participate in pre and post-operative work.
6. Write orders as required for Radiology, Laboratory, and other medical services.
7. Discharge patients on consultants' instructions and write discharge summaries.
8. Respond to any adverse occurrences and contribute to quality improvement initiatives.
9. Participate in work-related projects and adhere to Hospital Policies and Procedures.

Requirements:

• Good organizational ability and excellent communication skills.
• Emotional strength and ability to assume greater responsibility in matters of patient care.
• Ability to deal calmly, with tact, and diplomacy with patients and staff.
• Master Degree in Orthopedics.
