Logistics Operations Director

This position is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the logistics department, ensuring that all tasks are completed in accordance with the company's performance work statement (PWS) and associated technical exhibits (T.E.s). The successful candidate will have a minimum of ten years of experience in general management, including five years of specialized experience in logistical support functions.

  • Collects and analyzes data to identify trends and provides advice on operational matters.
  • Monitors supply functions, purchase requests, personnel actions, and administrative support for the directorate.
  • Assists senior directors and department managers in preparing plans, budgets, self-assessments, staffing, proposals, estimates, and information requests.

The ideal candidate will be knowledgeable about business and management principles, including strategic planning, resource allocation, leadership techniques, production methods, and coordination/management of resources. Strong communication skills and the ability to read, write, and speak English with proficiency are also essential.

Responsibilities
  1. Develop and implement processes to improve quality and efficiency within the logistics department.
  2. Collaborate with department managers to ensure compliance with stated PWS and T.E. requirements, CDRL development and submission, Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) guidance, USG regulatory and procedural requirements, and corporate policies and procedures.
  3. Provide oversight of work order tracking, purchase request tracking, overtime tracking, transportation, leased vehicle support, and information management support.
  4. Ensure personnel responsiveness to quality, quantity, and safety of all work performed.
