About the Role:

Serton Global AS is seeking a highly skilled Chemical Analysis Professional to join our team. As a Chemical Analysis Professional, you will be responsible for conducting chemical and physical analyses of oil and gas samples, supporting the creation of cement slurry designs, and operating laboratory equipment.

Your Key Responsibilities Will Include:

  1. Conducting chemical and physical analyses of oil and gas samples to ensure compliance with industry standards (API, ASTM).
  2. Supporting the creation of cement slurry designs based on oil-well conditions.
  3. Operating and maintaining laboratory equipment, such as microscopes and centrifuges, ensuring accurate results.
  4. Providing basic technical support during additive selection and fluid design.
  5. Assisting in performing quality assurance tests on products and preparing laboratory reports for service delivery.
  6. Maintaining and updating the database of slurry tests and designs used in the field. Maintaining proper records.
  7. Assisting in preparing technical reports and presentations for customers.
  8. Participating in audits and continuous improvement initiatives.
  9. Ensuring laboratory equipment is clean and well-maintained.
  10. Disposing of laboratory waste following environmental and safety regulations and reporting any non-compliance to a superior.
  11. Assisting in identifying and mitigating safety or quality concerns.
  12. Adhering to Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) policies and maintaining appropriate safety training.
  13. Communicating effectively with Client Support Labs, operating locations, and product centers.
  14. Providing support to Design/Technical Engineers and Product Champions as needed.
  15. Participating in Service Quality Meetings and contributing to performance improvement action plans.

The Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering, or a related scientific field is preferred.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in a laboratory environment, preferably within the oil and gas industry.
  • Familiarity with API and ASTM operating/testing procedures is a plus.
  • Certification as a Laboratory Analyst or equivalent is advantageous.
