Job Description:

This role is a vital part of the underwriting team, overseeing daily operations and guiding junior staff members to achieve optimal results. The Senior Underwriter Supervisor plays a crucial role in managing complex risks, developing strategies to mitigate potential threats, and ensuring compliance with industry regulations and company policies.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Assistant Manager to make informed underwriting decisions, expediting policy issuance while maintaining high standards of quality.
  • Provide coaching and guidance to junior team members to enhance their skills and performance, fostering a culture of excellence within the department.
  • Process quotations in accordance with treaty guidelines, adhering to established protocols and procedures.
  • Evaluate and optimize internal SLAs, guaranteeing seamless communication between teams and stakeholders.
  • Communicate complex policy terms and exclusions to clients and providers, resolving queries and concerns in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Cultivate relationships with reinsurers to secure competitive deals for various products, driving business growth and expansion.
  • Oversee the timely production of monthly and quarterly reports, providing critical insights into departmental performance and areas for improvement.
  • Maintain error-free quotations, upholding the highest standards of accuracy and precision.
  • Foster strong relationships with existing channels, securing new accounts and driving revenue growth through effective networking and collaboration.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance or a related field, demonstrating a solid foundation in financial principles and practices.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in the insurance sector, with at least 3 years of experience in technical decision-making with supervision.
  • Leadership skills, enabling effective team management and motivation.
  • Excellent analytical and numerical skills, facilitating informed decision-making and problem-solving.
  • Effective communication and negotiation skills, allowing for confident interaction with clients and stakeholders.
  • Advanced Excel skills, supporting data-driven decision-making and process optimization.

Salary Range: $85,000 - $110,000 per annum, depending on location and experience.
