The Fuels Systems Technician plays a crucial role in ensuring the performance of maintenance, repair, and inspection services for diesel fuel distribution systems and equipment. This involves adhering to all applicable federal, local, and international laws, regulations, Air Force Instruction, Technical Orders, and policy directives.

Working closely with a Fuel OM&R Manager, the Fuels Systems Technician ensures safe, efficient, accurate, and environmentally responsible services and products. The key responsibilities include:
  • Efficient and safe performance of diesel ground fuels operations;
  • Diesel and aviation fuel receipt operations, including quality control of diesel;
  • Maintaining proper accountability of diesel and aviation fuel stock levels;
  • Ensuring the operation and serviceability of all GFP, tanks, bladders, hoses, and fuel servicing equipment to support minimum-notice exercises and contingency operations;
  • Performing all fuel operations in accordance with AFI 23-201 Fuels Management, Commercial Fuel Servicing Trucks Checklist, T.O. 37-1-1 Fuel Storage and Dispensing System Inspection, and T.O. 37 A-1-101 Fuel Dispensing Equipment.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct visual inspections of diesel receipts to ensure product quality and mark all fuel lines and associated equipment;
  • Accomplish inspections of vehicles and equipment and provide operator-level maintenance for Fuels Management GFP;
  • Receive fuel and ensure all reports and records needed for such tasks are accurate and completed in accordance with the Performance Work Statement;
  • Maintain the interior and exterior of surrounding fenced area facilities, ensuring they are clean, free from debris, pests, and fire hazards;
  • Properly utilize and safeguard all property provided for contractor use;
  • Comply with all safety rules, regulations, and laws in accordance with current OSHSA, government, installation, and local agency standards;
  • Perform internal quality control checks and self-performance audits;
  • Execute precise execution of company time reporting procedures and complete timesheets accurately;
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Additional Requirements
  • Work will be primarily indoors but may require outdoor work to support various events;
  • Exposure to heat, cold, dust, noise, chemicals may occur;
  • Overtime and shift work may be required depending on contractual needs;
  • Employee must comply with all Federal, State, and Local regulations and published Company work rules as well as written instructions;
  • Task-specific work environment training will be provided as required;
  • Must be prepared to function in a wartime environment to support U.S. interests.

Qualifications
  • Education/Certifications: One year related experience may be substituted for one year of education if degree is required;
  • High school diploma or equivalent, related Vocational or Associate's degree preferred;
  • Must have completed a basic liquid fuel systems maintenance course equivalent to the requirements for award of AFSC 3 E431;
  • Must have current HAZWOPER certification;
  • Must have a current, valid U.S. Passport and U.S. Driver's License;
  • Must be able to pass the controlled movement area flight line driving test upon site arrival;
  • Must have and maintain a valid U.S. SECRET Security Clearance prior to deployment;
  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English fluently;
  • Must have color vision;
  • Must be able to pass employment and deployment qualification requirements that include psychological, medical, dental, drug testing, background checks, etc.
