Academic Growth Specialist

The role of an Academic Growth Specialist is pivotal in fostering the academic resilience and growth of students. This position requires delivering targeted instructional support to students who need additional assistance, with a focus on literacy, numeracy, and subject-specific interventions aligned with grade-level standards.

About the Position:
This Specialist will work closely with classroom teachers, counselors, and learning support teams to identify students requiring intervention and develop tailored learning plans. Effective assessment and documentation of student progress are essential, as is collaborating with parents and caregivers to provide updates and promote shared strategies for student success.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver Supportive Instruction
    • Provide personalized instructional support to students in small groups or one-on-one settings.
    • Develop and implement engaging, scaffolded lessons that build essential skills while promoting student independence and academic resilience.
  • Collaborate with Stakeholders
    • Work closely with classroom teachers, counselors, and learning support teams to identify students needing intervention.
    • Participate in data-driven discussions to inform instructional decisions and drive student outcomes.
  • Assess Progress and Communicate Effectively
    • Utilize data-driven methods to assess student progress and adjust instructional strategies accordingly.
    • Maintain regular communication with parents and caregivers to provide updates and gather insights into student needs.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
  • Experience working in middle and/or high school settings in intervention, learning support, or student services roles.
  • Strong understanding of differentiation, intervention strategies, and progress monitoring tools.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a collaborative mindset.
