School Career Counsellor Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated School Career Counsellor to join our team at an American school in Kuwait.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to make a positive impact on students' academic achievement and personal/social development.

  • Meet with students, parents, teachers, and administrators to resolve any possible behavioural or academic problems.
Required Qualifications:

A minimum of 2 years experience in School Counseling at Secondary grade levels is required. The ideal candidate will have excellent management skills and be able to deal effectively with student behaviour issues.

  • Masters of Education in School Counselling from a recognized University, preferably from the US

Excellent English skills are essential for this role. The successful candidate will also have culturally sensitive, dependable, flexible, and able to work in a continuously changing environment.

  • Competitive salary range from KD 700 to 1175 depending on experience and qualifications
  • Furnished accommodation of 1 or 2 bedroom flat is provided depending on family status

  • Cash Value of Annual Return Air Fare to home country for employee only
  • Paid leave allocated as per school calendar/breaks. Minimum 30 work days per year
  • 50% discount for up to 2 dependents attending same school as employee
  • Visa Fees will be paid for employees only if done in Kuwait. Employee is responsible for fees for dependents
  • End Of Service Benefit: For each full year of service, school will pay 1 month Basic Salary per year worked according to Labour Law of the country
  • Contract Period: 1 year contract - renewable
