Job Description

We are seeking a talented Equipment Reliability Specialist to join our team in Kuwait. As a key member of our multicultural and diverse team, you will be responsible for ensuring optimal functionality and durability of equipment and machines. Your primary objective will be to analyze performance data, identify potential issues, and implement preventive and proactive maintenance strategies to minimize downtime and enhance equipment reliability.

Responsibilities

Some of your key responsibilities will include:


  • Systematically defining, developing, monitoring, and refining asset maintenance strategies using reliability-centered maintenance (RCM) methodology.
  • Conducting reliability analyses based on RCM and failure mode and effect analysis (FMEA).
  • Leading root cause analysis (RCA) investigations to identify the underlying causes of failures and develop corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Analyzing equipment performance data, including failure data, maintenance records, and equipment histories, to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
  • Collaborating with design and engineering teams to incorporate reliability considerations into the design and development of new equipment and systems.
  • Working closely with the Plant Maintenance Teams to ensure that the Asset Maintenance strategy per Plant is in line with the asset performance targets.
  • Managing the Asset Life Cycle Plans and ensuring Value-Based decisions are made for all disciplines and all areas in the replacement and overhaul of end-of-life assets.
  • Identifying and addressing production losses and abnormally high maintenance costs, and finding ways to cost-efficiently reduce those losses and eliminate bad actors.
  • Monitoring and reviewing regularly downtime incurred during operation, and evaluating and analyzing reports to determine possible causes of troubles and prepare solutions to minimize or prevent occupancy.
  • Reviewing regularly the planned preventive maintenance plan, assessing its effectiveness, and initiating necessary revisions to improve equipment availability.
  • Formulating training programs to improve the ability of Reliability, Maintenance, and Production teams.
  • Performing other tasks assigned by superior from time to time.


Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or higher, with a minimum of 10 years' experience in trouble-shooting, repair, and maintenance of steel industry mechanical machinery and equipment. Additionally, you will need to have a minimum of 3 years' specific experience with Mechanical Reliability Engineering, including practical application of the RCM methodology in steel industry machinery and equipment.
