Founded in 2004, our success expanded to the GCC region, Egypt & Jordan, making us the largest and most popular food ordering app. We deliver hundreds of thousands of orders every day to millions of people with over 2,000 staff.

We are part of the Delivery Hero network, building the global infrastructure for the upcoming wave of online delivery companies. Our engineering teams work across 13 countries, driven by lean, continuous delivery, domain-driven design, and extreme programming (XP) principles.

Job Description

We seek an experienced software engineer to join our fintech team, focusing on cloud innovations. As a key member, you will contribute to developing and maintaining cutting-edge technologies for the MENA area, including cloud kitchens, robotics, q-commerce, sustainable packaging, and autonomous delivery trucks.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Designing, developing, and deploying scalable cloud-based systems
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive innovation and growth
  • Implementing efficient solutions using agile methodologies

Requirements

To succeed in this role, you should have:

  • Six or more years of software engineering experience, ideally gained in a setting that uses Extreme Programming (TDD, Pair Programming, Simple Design, and Continuous Refactoring)
  • Good understanding of lean/agile values & principles and associated practices
  • Experience building & leading cross-functional, empowered, and self-organized teams of multidisciplinary engineers
  • Capacity to impart information through coaching and mentoring
  • Effective management of stakeholders and dependencies through proactive communication
  • Knowledge of Event-Driven, Microservices, RESTful Services, and Distributed Systems Architecture
  • Strong background in web application and API design, implementation, monitoring, and scaling
  • Strong comprehension of the entire life cycle of mobile development
  • Adept in testing, concentrating on automated end-to-end quality
  • Experience with cloud platforms, preferably AWS
  • Strong familiarity with security, monitoring, alerting, performance, and quality standards
