Job Overview:

This role involves conducting scientific analyses of oil and gas samples, designing cement slurry formulations, operating laboratory equipment, and maintaining accurate records.

Main Responsibilities:

  1. Our laboratory technicians analyze oil and gas samples to determine their properties using a range of scientific techniques.
  2. They develop customized cement slurry designs based on specific oil-well conditions and parameters.
  3. Lab technicians operate and maintain laboratory equipment and instruments, ensuring accurate and reliable results.
  4. Under supervision, they develop expertise in advanced additive selection and fluid design to provide technical support as required.
  5. Quality assurance tests are performed on company products, and detailed laboratory reports are prepared prior to service delivery at the wellsite.
  6. Lab technicians maintain and update the database of slurry tests and designs performed in the lab and utilized in the field.
  7. They prepare technical reports/analysis for internal and external customers, outlining test results and recommendations.
  8. Regular audits are conducted to ensure laboratory operations adhere to required standards and participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
  9. Laboratory equipment must be clean, well-maintained, and in proper working condition, adhering to housekeeping and spare parts inventory management.
  10. Dispose of laboratory waste regularly and in compliance with environmental and safety regulations.
  11. Risk analyses are performed before each task to identify and mitigate potential safety or quality concerns.
  12. HSE policies must be adhered to, and required safety training maintained.
  13. Effective communication with Client Support Labs, operating locations, and product centers facilitates seamless service delivery.
  14. Design/Technical Engineers and Product Champions receive technical support as needed.
  15. Service Quality Meetings are participated in with customers, contributing to performance improvements through action plans.
  16. Lab Manager distributes laboratory workloads, including product testing and research activities, to support the operations.

Requirements:

  • Proficiency in operating and maintaining laboratory instruments and equipment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration.
