Role Overview

The Academic Leader is responsible for leading and managing systems change, including developing, implementing, and monitoring outcomes of school improvement plans and student achievement data to improve student learning. They will create a safe, clean, orderly learning environment and collaborate with staff to achieve school improvement plan targets.

This role involves utilizing current technologies to support leadership and management functions and aligning resources to improve teaching and learning. The Academic Leader will work with and engage staff in a shared vision for effective teaching and learning by implementing a standards-based curriculum relevant to student needs and interests.

They will review instructional practices, create continuous improvement cycles, and implement data-guided decisions. The candidate will use disaggregated data, assist in selecting and retaining teachers that maximize student learning, and evaluate the effectiveness of teaching and hold teachers accountable.

This position requires promoting the use of technology to enhance student learning and building and maintaining collaborative relationships, including creating, developing, and sustaining relationships that result in active student engagement in the learning process.

The Academic Leader will utilize meaningful feedback from students, staff, families, and the community in the evaluation of school programs and policies. They will proactively engage families and communities in support of child's learning and school learning goals.
