Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Home Furnishings Category Manager to join our team at Safat Home by Alghanim Industries. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and experienced professional to lead the development of our home furnishings category.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement category strategies to achieve sales and profitability targets, and maximize market share in the assigned category.
  • Work closely with senior management to develop assortment plans, including brands, products, and agencies, to ensure freshness and improve profitability.
  • Collaborate with the merchandising team to update planograms regularly, ensuring effective display principles and optimal inventory levels.
  • Train, coach, and develop team members to deliver business requirements and support their personal growth.
  • Implement promotional strategies through direct team and support functions to meet business objectives, reviewing effectiveness and updating the team accordingly.
  • Develop advertising and marketing strategies, implementing them through marketing and reviewing their effectiveness.
  • Manage order and replenishment processes through the team, ensuring optimal inventory, availability, and aged stock control.
  • Support new product development and sourcing for own brands, developing strategies and negotiating commercial terms.
  • Monitor market trends, review daily marketing data on core competition, and ensure competitiveness in assortment and pricing.
  • Work with service and support teams to improve business processes and increase customer satisfaction.
  • Develop online category strategies and promotional plans to ensure competitiveness with the market and grow online business.
  • Manage supplier relations, negotiate commercial terms, and follow up on timely payment of supplier receivables.
  • In-store layout, display, and space management/execution via planogram and store visits.
Requirements
  • Minimum 3 years' retail experience, preferably within the Home Furnishings sector, with a previous role in buying or merchandising.
  • Excellent numerical and analytical skills.
  • Experience with Business Objects/SAP is an advantage.
  • Team player and results-oriented.
  • Previous experience in branded home stores.
  • International experience preferred, willing to relocate.
