About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Environmental Compliance Specialist to support our team in Kuwait. As an Environmental Compliance Specialist, you will play a key role in ensuring that all assigned areas are in environmental compliance with relevant regulations and industry standards.

Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Inspecting and monitoring environmental compliance procedures to ensure all steps are followed.
  • Randomly supervising environmental compliance specialists conducting monthly environmental assessments.
  • Creating environmental compliance audit calendars for assigned work locations.
  • Reviewing and editing audit report forms for accuracy before sending to the supervisor for approval.
  • Providing guidance on environmental compliance to team members when it comes to training, implementation, and updates.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A minimum of two years' experience in environmental services.
  • Familiarity with environmental training on proper handling of hazardous materials and hazardous communication.
  • A valid home country and host nation's local driver's license (driving is required).
  • HAZWOPER 40-hour certification with annual 24-hour or 8-hour refresher training as required.
  • The ability to read, write, and comprehend English at a level 4 standard.
  • A valid passport and ability to obtain a Kuwait visa.
Working Conditions

This role requires working in an extreme weather condition with temperatures exceeding 120 degrees Fahrenheit. You will also be working in an indoor and outdoor environment with adverse and harsh conditions, including hot, dry, duty, desert environments with average temperatures of 30 degrees in the winter and 130 degrees in the summer months.

The position involves some industrial production environment conditions as well.

Physical Requirements

The job requires medium work, exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. The employee may be required to lift heavy objects, stoop, climb, stand for long periods, sit for prolonged periods, and work in areas where there is a potential risk of exposure to physical, chemical, or biological agents.

You will be required to use personal protective equipment (PPE) in certain situations, including head, foot, torso, respiratory, vision, and hearing protective devices. You must comply with all fire and safety regulations and post policies.
