Armament Supervisor

We are seeking a highly skilled Armament Supervisor to join our team at Vectrus. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for overseeing the safe custody and small arms repair sections, ensuring the maintenance, storage, and security of small arms and accessories.
Key Responsibilities- Direct a professional team of maintenance personnel in the operations of the Safe Custody and Small Arms Repair sections.
- Evaluate staff performance, comparing objectives and achievements in assessments.
- Coach staff on a daily basis for training and continuous improvement.
- Prepare performance appraisals as required and recommend disciplinary actions when necessary.
- Maintain full accountability of all weapons and devices stored in consolidated arms facilities, ensuring a high state of physical security in accordance with Army regulations and local command policies.
- Supervise and provide guidance to all levels of repair of military small arms for maintenance.
- Plan work schedules, sequence of operations, and distribution of work, designating workers and assigning tasks.
- Explain work requirements, methods, and procedures, instruct staff on new or changed procedures, and assist with resolving problems.
- Constantly monitor repair activities to ensure all procedures are performed safely, immediately stopping any unsafe actions.
- Ensure the use of appropriate safety equipment and adjust plans, assignments, and methods as necessary to accomplish work effectively.
- Accountable for all assigned government-furnished equipment, including shop sets, special tools, and equipment.
- Responsible for maintaining bench stocks and all supply actions for the storage, receipt, issue, and replenishment.
- Minimum seven (7) years' experience in weapons repair and arms room storage operations.
- At least 3 years supervisory responsibility.
- Demonstrated supervisory skills, including a professional demeanor, strong interpersonal and negotiation skills, and the ability to exercise discretion and good judgment.
- Ability to communicate in English at an advanced level, both verbally and written.
- Ability to work effectively with all levels of employees, including top, middle, and supervisory levels of management.
- Collaborative work style, fostering cooperation and teamwork.
The Armament Supervisor will work in an indoor and/or outdoor environment with very adverse and harsh conditions, including extreme temperatures, industrial production environment conditions, and the potential for exposure to physical, chemical, or biological agents.
The employee will be required to use personal protective equipment (PPE) and comply with all Fire and Safety Regulations and post policies.
