Inventory Management Specialist

About the Role

This position is responsible for overseeing inventory control and management systems within a warehouse setting. The Inventory Management Specialist will be physically located in Kuwait and will report directly to the Warehouse Manager and Supervisor.

Duties and Responsibilities

The Inventory Management Specialist will be responsible for monitoring and maintaining an accurate, up-to-date inventory control system involving transfer orders and DD1348/MRO files daily. They will also check GCSS-Army operations, controls, and verify data input, produce management reports, and process customer requests.

  • Manage stock control and daily GCSS-Army operations, including processing goods receipts, monitoring warehouse activity, and overdue transfer orders.
  • Prepare and monitor daily workload for the section.
  • Maintain accurate control files daily.
  • Verify all data input into GCSS-Army.
  • Produce and analyze management reports.
  • Provide technical support to staff as needed.
  • Maintain GCSS-Army equipment.
  • Collaborate with other departments to complete tasks.
  • Evaluate employee performance to ensure compliance with PWS and regulations.
  • Ensure safety policies and regulations are followed.
  • Safeguard Army property and equipment.
  • Implement work performance training as needed.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, the candidate should possess a High School diploma, associate, or bachelor's degree; one year of related experience may substitute for education. At least 3 years of warehousing and logistics experience, minimum 3 years' experience with USG AIS (GCSS-Army) in an advanced role, and experience with MILSTRIP or equivalent civilian systems are required.

  • Skills: Ability to operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and lifts; knowledge of SDS and storage requirements; leadership and management skills; strong interpersonal skills; discretion and judgment; prioritization skills; attention to detail; proficiency in English; organizational skills; Microsoft Office skills; GCSS-Army or SAP knowledge with training certification.
    • Clearance/License: Valid driver's license, ability to obtain U.S. Government Motor Vehicle License, Kuwait Driver's License, and a Secret clearance with USG network access & CAC.
      • Working Environment: Indoor/outdoor warehouse with harsh conditions, including extreme temperatures.
        • Physical Activities: Capable of lifting 30 pounds, working extended hours, nights, weekends, and holidays, maintaining professional appearance, and adhering to safety protocols. PPE required in certain situations.
