Job Description

This position is physically located in Kuwait in support of LOGCAP.

Responsibilities
  • The Master Electrician will coordinate and execute repairs, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance on indoor lighting systems, electrical systems and apparatus, primary power distribution systems and panel boards, outdoor facility lighting, construction projects, and HVAC systems.
  • He/she will respond to emergency power and back-up systems failures.
  • The Master Electrician will monitor and test various electrical systems.
  • He/she will coordinate inspections for contractors performed work in renovations and new construction projects.
  • The Master Electrician will locate underground electrical utilities for various projects.
  • He/she will ensure personnel exhibit superior workmanship and focuses on a quality end product.
  • The Master Electrician will follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure all tasks are accomplished safely and with an emphasis on quality.
  • He/she will provide direct oversight for Journeyman Electricians.
  • The Master Electrician will verify actual hours worked by personnel to accurately report manpower expenditure.
  • He/she will ensure personnel complete all tasks in accordance with local Safety, Environmental, and Health directives.
  • The Master Electrician will provide leadership and mentors junior personnel to develop appropriate skillsets.
  • He/she will address customer concerns in a prompt, professional, and courteous manner.
  • The Master Electrician will use a Computer Maintenance Management System (Maximo) to correctly capture data related to maintenance work orders, preventative maintenance inspections, and emergency/urgent customer requests.
  • He/she will ensure personnel accurately capture data on maintenance work order requests and preventive maintenance inspection forms for upload into the Maximo database.
Requirements
  • A Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum 14 years of experience as an Electrician.
  • A valid Master Electrician License.
  • Thorough knowledge of Electrical Codes.
  • Ability to manage multiple job sites and priorities.
  • Ability to communicate, interact and work effectively and cooperatively with all people including those from diverse ethnic and educational backgrounds.
  • Ability to recognize the importance of safety in the workplace, follow safety rules, practice safe work habits, utilize appropriate safety equipment and report unsafe conditions to the appropriate administrator.
  • Basic computer skills.
Working Conditions

The Master Electrician must be capable of working in extreme weather conditions with temperatures exceeding 120 degrees Fahrenheit. The position includes some industrial production environment conditions as well.

The physical demands of this job include medium work, exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. The employee may be required to heavy lifting, stooping, climbing, prolonged standing, and prolonged sitting.
