Fire Protection Leadership

This role is a critical position in our organization, responsible for implementing fire protection programs and ensuring emergency response operations adhere to established guidelines.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and Implement Fire Protection Plans: Ensure compliance with Performance Work Statement requirements, maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) regulations.
  • Conduct Regular Fire Inspections: Verify facilities are safe, record documentation, and operate computerized digital fire alarm receiving equipment.
  • Lead Emergency Response Teams: Ensure emergency equipment is operational and ready according to NFPA or industry standards. Respond to emergencies, disasters, and hazardous material spills according to department work instructions and standard operating procedures.
  • Supervise Firefighters: Provide supervision, maintain and clean personal protective equipment, and track data related to metrics and support LOGCAP goals.

In this role, you will be responsible for communicating professionally, both orally and in writing, with subordinates and others to relay information necessary for job success. You will also achieve LOGCAP goals and PWS commitments.

Qualifications:
  • Education/Certifications: High School diploma or equivalent (Associate Degree in Fire Science preferred). One-year related experience may be substituted for one year of education if degree is required.
  • Certifications: DoD, Pro-board, or International Fire Services Accreditation Congress Certification as Fire Officer II, Fire Instructor I, Fire Inspector I, Hazmat Operations, and Incident Commander. Preferred certifications include Driver Operator Pumper, Driver Operator Mobile Water Supply MWS, Driver Operator ARFF, Driver Operator Aerial, Airport Firefighter, HazMat Technician, and Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) or higher.
  • Experience: Requires 5 years with an organized Fire or Emergency Service Department. Two years of experience at the level of Company Officer is preferred.
  • Skills: Possess leadership and management skills, ability to work effectively with multinational staff, superiors, and military officers. Exercise discretion and good judgment, understand the effect of decisions on the organization. Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills, ability to communicate in English, proficiency in Word, Excel, and Outlook applications.
  • Working Conditions: Conduct work outdoors with potential exposure to extreme climatic conditions, dust storms, and high temperatures. Potential exposure to chemical or biological agents could exist. Employee use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required.
  • Physical Requirements: Meet or exceed physical requirements contained in the current edition NFPA 1582, including physical strength and ability to perform heavy and strenuous tasks under dangerous and uncomfortable conditions.
