Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Heavy Vehicle Driver to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating and driving transit mixer trucks to transport and deliver ready-mix concrete to construction sites.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operating and Driving Transit Mixer Trucks: Safely operate and drive transit mixer trucks to transport and deliver ready-mix concrete to construction sites.
  • Following Traffic Regulations and Safety Guidelines: Follow all traffic regulations and safety guidelines to ensure safe operation of the vehicle.
  • Inspecting Vehicles: Inspect the vehicle before and after each shift to ensure it is in good working condition and report any issues to the supervisor.
  • Loading and Unloading Concrete Materials: Load and unload concrete materials as required, ensuring proper weight distribution and secure fastening.
  • Maintaining Delivery Records: Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including time, location, and quantity of concrete delivered.
  • Communicating with Dispatchers and Project Managers: Communicate with dispatchers and project managers to coordinate delivery schedules and address any issues or concerns.
  • Pouring Concrete: Follow proper concrete handling and pouring techniques to ensure the quality of the delivered product.
  • Cleaning and Maintenance: Monitor and maintain the cleanliness of the transit mixer truck, both inside and outside.
  • Routine Maintenance Tasks: Conduct routine maintenance tasks such as checking oil and fluid levels, tire pressure, and cleaning filters.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A valid heavy vehicle driving license and a clean driving record.
  • Proven experience as a transit mixer driver or heavy vehicle driver in the construction industry.
  • Knowledge of traffic regulations and safety guidelines.
  • The ability to read and understand delivery schedules and maps.
  • The ability to work independently and follow instructions.
  • Flexibility to work long and irregular hours, including weekends and holidays if required.
