Aviation Life Support Equipment Technician

The Aviation Life Support Equipment (ALSE) Technician plays a crucial role in ensuring the safety and well-being of aircrew members. This position is responsible for the maintenance, repair, and inspection of all ALSE, first aid kits, and Night Vision Devices.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Inspect and approve completed maintenance actions, diagnose repair problems using technical publications, and implement effective solutions.
  • Conduct thorough inspections of individual and crew equipment, providing instruction and guidance as needed.
  • Manage inventory of kits and components, resolving shipping discrepancies and ensuring timely delivery.
  • Maintain accurate records and inventories to meet regulatory requirements.
  • Provide training to contractor and host nation personnel on proper equipment use and care.
Requirements:
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • At least one year of verifiable experience as an ALSE technician.
  • Possession of a certificate of training as a school-trained ALSE Technician.
  • A valid US Passport with at least 2.5 years' validity is required for deployment to Kuwait.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a US Government Security Clearance, NAC-I T1 Public Trust.
  • US Citizenship is necessary to obtain a T1/CAC NACI Clearance.
  • Must meet and pass CENTCOM Medical requirements prior to deployment.
Knowledge and Skills:
  • CMF 92 Supply & Services MOS series or other military/commercial equivalent (92R MOS preferred).
  • Working knowledge of aircrew and aircraft LSE requirements for extreme environmental and high-risk areas of operation.
  • Able to determine LSE requirements for multi-type aircraft environments.
  • Familiarity with basic theory of flight and aircraft systems nomenclatures.
  • Knowledge of flight line/ramp safety procedures and aircraft fire-fighting procedures.
  • Familiarity with aviation maintenance data systems and associated documentation/forms.
  • Knowledge of life support equipment maintenance tools and tool control procedures.
  • Familiarity with principles of instruction.
  • Knowledge of seat kit survival components.
  • Familiarity with aircrew life raft and life preserver inspections/maintenance.
Physical Requirements/Working Environment:
  • Ability to walk and stand for up to six hours per day and sit for up to two hours per day.
  • Capacity to climb stairs, ramps, and ladders and work stands.
  • Ability to crouch, crawl, grasp objects, use finger dexterity, bend elbow/knee, and reach above/below shoulders.
  • May be required to carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds.
  • May be required to lift up to 50 pounds to a height of four feet and up to 35 pounds to a height of seven feet.
  • Ability to communicate by voice and detect sounds.
  • Ability to distinguish color and judge three-dimensional depths.
