Senior Calibration Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Calibration Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our calibration group, you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and reliability of our measurement equipment. This includes conducting research and studies on new equipment, developing and implementing calibration procedures, and evaluating the performance of existing equipment. You will also assist in developing and implementing a Metrology QA Program and aid in obtaining and maintaining laboratory QA accreditation.

Responsibilities:
  1. Conducts research and studies on new equipment to ensure that the latest techniques and developments are incorporated into metrology planning for future acquisition.
  2. Develops, tests, and evaluates new calibration methodology.
  3. Performs analysis and evaluation of equipment.
  4. Establishes test and performance criteria, and prescribes calibration approaches, tests, equipment, and servicing requirements necessary to ensure measurement traceability.
  5. Directs, conducts, and evaluates the development of calibration procedures for assigned equipment.
  6. Assists in developing and implementing a Metrology QA Program, as required.
  7. Aids in obtaining and maintaining laboratory QA accreditation.
  8. Coordinates with technical societies and engineering facilities of other countries to remain current with state-of-the-art and new measurement techniques.

Requirements:
  1. An Associate's degree in electrical engineering, engineering technology, physics, or a related technical field from an accredited college or university, and twelve (12) years of work experience operating, maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and calibrating electronic precision measurement equipment and calibration laboratory reference standards.
  2. Completion of a U.S. military precision measurement and calibration school and twelve (12) years of work experience in the metrology and calibration field.
  3. Completion of a precision measurement and calibration school at an accredited school, or within a specialized calibration firm, and twelve (12) years of work experience operating, maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and calibrating electronic precision measurement equipment and calibration laboratory reference standards.
  4. Five (5) years of experience in technical oversight and training responsibilities of calibration and repair technicians with three (3) years within the last five.
  5. Experience in researching requirements and maintaining calibration laboratory facility and related environmental control systems.
  6. An Active Secret US Government Clearance.
  7. US Citizenship is required to obtain a Secret Clearance.
