- System Performance and Tuning: Perform system performance analysis and tuning of CICS environments to optimize transaction throughput, memory management, and overall system efficiency.
- Transaction Management: Administer and support CICS transactions, ensuring smooth execution of critical business applications.
- CICS Resource Definition: Define and manage CICS resources such as programs, transactions, files, temporary storage, and terminals.
- Monitoring and Troubleshooting: Use tools like CICS Performance Analyzer and OMEGAMON to monitor system health, identify performance bottlenecks, and troubleshoot issues.
- Security Management: Implement security policies and procedures for CICS regions, ensuring proper access control, authorization, and auditing.
- Disaster Recovery and Backup: Develop and maintain disaster recovery plans, ensuring that CICS regions are backed up and can be restored in case of failure.
- Automation: Create and maintain scripts to automate regular tasks, such as CICS region startup, shutdown, and monitoring.
- Problem Resolution: Investigate and resolve CICS-related system failures or performance issues in a timely manner, working with cross-functional teams as needed.
The ideal candidate should have 5+ years of hands-on experience with CICS on z/OS, including installation, administration, and support. Strong knowledge of JCL, REXX, and other mainframe scripting languages is required. Familiarity with DB2 and MQ integration with CICS is also preferred.
Estimated Salary: $120,000 - $180,000 per annum.
