Financial Management Specialist

The role of Financial Management Specialist involves maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring compliance with policies, regulations, and standards. Key responsibilities include processing payments, managing accounts receivable/payable, preparing financial reports, and supporting audits to promote financial transparency and health.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain the integrity of financial data and ensure compliance with accounting standards, policies, and regulatory requirements.
  • Assist in developing and monitoring annual budgets, providing financial insights and recommendations.
  • Prepare accurate and timely financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements for management and stakeholders.
  • Create and process fee slips, bills, invoices, and manage collections.
  • Conduct financial analysis, variance analysis, and forecasting to support decision-making.
  • Coordinate and participate in internal and external audits, ensuring proper documentation and compliance.
  • Identify opportunities for cost control and efficiency improvements.
  • Ensure compliance with local tax regulations and manage tax-related matters.
  • Monitor and manage cash flow, providing recommendations for liquidity management.
  • Develop and update financial policies and procedures in line with best practices and regulations.
  • Maintain the university's general ledger, reconcile accounts, and ensure accuracy of financial records.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) certification is an asset.
  • 3-5 years of progressive experience in financial accounting and management. Knowledge of Kuwaiti financial regulations and tax laws.
  • Proficiency in financial software and advanced Excel skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Attention to detail, high accuracy, ability to work under pressure, and problem-solving skills.
  • Fluency in English and Arabic.
