Overview

The American University of Kuwait is seeking a highly skilled Security and Control Room Supervisor to lead its security team. This individual will be responsible for managing a team of security personnel, ensuring the safety and security of the university community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitoring and Surveillance: Utilize advanced security systems and equipment, including CCTV cameras, alarms, access control systems, and other monitoring tools to detect and respond to potential security threats or breaches.
  • Incident Response and Emergency Management: Coordinate response efforts in the event of a security incident or emergency, notify relevant personnel or authorities, and provide accurate information for an effective and timely response.
  • Communication and Coordination: Maintain open channels of communication with security personnel, emergency services, and other relevant stakeholders, coordinating security-related activities and sharing information with other departments or external agencies.
  • Development and Implementation of Security Policies, Procedures, and Protocols: Ensure security measures are in accordance with best practices and regulatory requirements, oversee enforcement of security policies, and educate employees on security awareness and compliance.
  • Training and Development: Train control room operators or security personnel on security system operations, emergency response protocols, and adherence to security policies. Organize drills and exercises to improve team readiness and evaluate performance.
  • Team Management: Assign tasks, provide guidance and support, conduct performance evaluations, and foster a positive work environment.
Qualifications
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent; higher education or certification in security management is an advantage.
  • Licenses and Certification: Relevant security licenses and certifications, such as First Aid/CPR.
  • Experience: Proven experience in a security-related role, with prior supervisory or control room experience preferred.
  • Skills: Proficiency in CCTV operations, monitoring systems, and incident reporting software. Strong leadership, communication, and decision-making skills.
  • Background: Clean criminal record and strong ethical standards.
