Job Overview

This position is located in Kuwait, supporting LOGCAP operations.

The Communications-Electronics Technician Lead oversees a team of technicians responsible for Field Level Maintenance services and repairs of Vehicle Radio Installation Kits. The incumbent will provide maintenance and repair of tactical communication systems installed in track and wheel vehicles, as well as manage inventory and reorder parts for bench stock re-supply.

Duties and Responsibilities
  1. The successful candidate will guide and manage a team of COMMEL Technicians.
  2. Perform full range of vehicle radios systems at the Field Level of maintenance.
  3. Complete work assignments within required man hours standards and requirements.
  4. Utilize correct technical manuals, bulletins, and written directives in the performance of duty.
  5. Troubleshoot equipment, diagnose problems, and perform corrective actions.
  6. Order required repair parts using appropriate parts manuals and/or automated systems.
  7. Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Requirements
  • Minimum Qualifications: Education/Certifications: One-year related experience may be substituted for one year of education, if degree is required.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to obtain host nation driver license.
  • Must be Secret Clearance eligible and/or ability to obtain a Secret Clearance.
Experience:
  • Minimum three years' work experience in communication maintenance.
  • One year leadership experience preferred.
Skills and Abilities:
  • A working knowledge of test equipment.
  • Collaborative work style fostering cooperation and teamwork.
  • Ability to work effectively with employees and management of all levels to include multi-national staff, superiors, and ranking military officers.
  • Ability to handle confidential company and employee information with complete discretion.
  • Intermediate ability to communicate in English, both verbally and written.
  • Basic proficiency in Word, Excel, and Outlook applications.
  • High-level organization and planning skills so workflow is managed efficiently and accurately.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret reports and documents.
Working Conditions:
  • Must be capable of working in extreme weather conditions with temperatures exceeding 120 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Indoor and/or outdoor environment with very adverse and harsh conditions (i.e., hot, dry, desert environment with average temperatures of 30 degrees in the winter and 130 degrees in the summer months). Includes some industrial production environment conditions as well.
Physical Requirements:
  • Heavy work. Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
  • Work may require heavy lifting, stooping, climbing, prolonged standing, prolonged sitting, and working with or in areas where a potential could exist for exposure to physical, chemical, or biological agents.
  • Employee use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required for some situations. PPE includes, but is not limited to, head, foot, torso, respiratory, vision, and hearing protective devices.
  • Must comply with all Fire and Safety Regulations and post policies.
