Job Description

Job Summary:

As a Senior Mechanical Engineer at Sshic, you will be responsible for overseeing the mechanical engineering works of our projects, ensuring that they meet all contract documents and industry standards.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Project Management: Manage and monitor the delivery of SSH's Scope of Services under SSH's Contract, assuming responsibilities as delegated by the Resident Engineer.
  • Reporting: Provide regular project reports to the RE, covering project performance, risks, changes, and resource management, ensuring all project KPIs are met.
  • Shop Drawings: Check and review Contractor's shop drawings for all mechanical works, coordinating with other disciplines and regulatory requirements.
  • Progress Monitoring: Review and recommend completed progress percentages of all discipline activities to the client/CM for Contractor's Monthly Payment Applications.
  • Materials Inspection: Inspect materials delivered to the project site for compliance with approved materials data/samples and ensure testing is carried out according to project specifications.
  • Quality Control: Check quality of works to ensure compliance with contract specification requirements, method statements, and approvals.
  • Testing and Commissioning: Conduct, verify, and approve testing and commissioning processes in accordance with project specifications and relevant codes/standards.
  • Snagging Lists: Prepare snagging lists for defects and rectifications.
  • Contract Liaison: Act as the project contract liaison with all relevant stakeholders and clients, maintaining strong relationships through regular communication.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Post-Contract Supervision Consultancy: Significant experience in post-contract supervision consultancy and engineering.
  • Team Management: Experience and acumen in managing and working effectively across multi-disciplinary teams and divisions.
  • Communication: Strong command of the English language (written and spoken), with knowledge of Arabic and/or other languages being mandatory in RTEs where required.
  • Qualifications: Bachelor's degree or Master's in Mechanical Engineering or relevant discipline, with professional registration from an internationally recognized institution.
