Maintenance and Repair Specialist

Job Description

The Maintenance Officer / Handyperson will be responsible for carrying out a range of maintenance and repair work to areas throughout the hotel. This will involve operating plant machinery, performing repairs and maintenance for front and back of house areas, and supporting the Engineering Assistant Manager in supervising the day to day operations.

This role provides an opportunity to develop your trades and engineering career within an international company. You will have the chance to work on a variety of tasks, including routine inspections of public areas and plant repairs & maintenance as required.

You will also be responsible for monitoring plant operations, conducting regular plant inspections during your shift, and assisting other trades in the completion of tasks as required.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out maintenance and repair work to areas throughout the hotel
  • Operate plant machinery and perform repairs and maintenance for front and back of house areas
  • Support the Engineering Assistant Manager in supervising the day to day operations
  • Monitor plant operations and conduct regular plant inspections during your shift
  • Assist other trades in the completion of tasks as required
Qualifications and Skills

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Trade qualified is most desirable
  • Minimum 5 years in a general maintenance role
  • Previous experience within a facilities maintenance role would be advantageous
  • Exceptional interpersonal communication skills with advanced proficiency of the English language
  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to work unsupervised
  • A level of customer service skills along with excellent service resolution skills
  • The necessary skills to be able to perform a variety of general maintenance and repair works
