Special Education Needs ICT Teacher

We are seeking a dedicated and innovative educator to join our team as a Special Education Needs ICT Teacher. As a key member of our teaching staff, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality education to students with special needs.

About the Role:
  • Teach all areas of the curriculum to students with special needs, including ICT and other subjects.
  • Develop and implement effective lesson plans that cater to the diverse needs of students.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to plan and coordinate work, including working with support staff.
  • Use keen observation skills to assess student progress and set individual targets.
  • Manage behaviour effectively and possess good experience in implementing behaviour plans and strategies.
Key Responsibilities:
  • To teach all areas of the KS1 & KS2 curriculum to SEN pupils.
  • To take responsibility for the progress of a class of 6-12 years age SEN pupils.
  • To organise the classroom and learning resources and create displays to encourage a positive learning environment.
  • To plan, prepare and present lessons that cater for the needs of the whole ability range within the class.
  • To differentiate work and address students individual needs.
  • To work with colleagues to plan and coordinate work - this includes working with support staff.
  • To use keen observation skills (summative-formative assessment) to assess each student, set individual targets and track progress.
  • To manage behaviour effectively and possess good experience in implementing behaviour plans and strategies.
  • To conduct extra-curricular activities like supporting school concerts, achievement ceremonies, sports days, excursions and field trips.
  • To inform parents of student's progress through report cards and, where necessary, letters or individual meetings.
  • To be available for all parent-teacher conferences.
  • To attend all relevant meetings, including curriculum & planning meetings.
  • To implement intervention plans to support students learning.
  • To continuously work on professional development.
