Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Assistant Laboratory Technician to join our team. As an Assistant Laboratory Technician, you will play a critical role in conducting chemical and physical analyses of oil and gas samples.

Main Responsibilities:

  1. Conduct laboratory tests and analyses to ensure compliance with industry standards (API, ASTM).

  2. Create cement slurry designs based on oil-well conditions.

  3. Operate and maintain laboratory equipment, such as microscopes and centrifuges.

  4. Provide technical support during additive selection and fluid design.

  5. Perform quality assurance tests on products and prepare laboratory reports.

  6. Maintain and update the database of slurry tests and designs used in the field.

  7. Prepare technical reports and presentations for customers.

  8. Participate in audits and continuous improvement initiatives.

  9. Ensure laboratory equipment is clean and well-maintained.

  10. Dispose of laboratory waste following environmental and safety regulations.

  11. Identify and mitigate safety or quality concerns.

  12. Adhere to Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) policies.

  13. Communicate effectively with Client Support Labs, operating locations, and product centers.

  14. Support Design/Technical Engineers and Product Champions as needed.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering, or a related scientific field.

  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in a laboratory environment, preferably within the oil and gas industry.

  • Familiarity with API and ASTM operating/testing procedures.

  • Certification as a Laboratory Analyst or equivalent.

  • Proficiency in operating and maintaining laboratory instruments and equipment.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.

  • Good communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration.

  • Ability to prioritize tasks, manage workloads, and meet deadlines.

  • Commitment to maintaining high safety and quality standards.
