Lead Painter Role

This leadership position involves overseeing painting tasks, ensuring adequate supplies and materials are readily available. The successful candidate will have knowledge of surface peculiarities and types of paint required for different applications.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing surfaces for painting by washing, filling holes, and sanding until smooth.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Prepare surfaces for painting by washing, filling holes, and sanding until smooth.
  • Apply primer and other sealers to paint surfaces to ensure that paint sticks to them.
  • Mix colors, oils, white lead, and other paint ingredients to obtain proper color or consistency.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Must be CAC eligible and/or able to obtain a Common Access Card (CAC).
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • A valid driver's license and the ability to obtain a U.S. Government Motor Vehicle Operator's License and host nation Driver's License are required.
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent.

Experience:

  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience as a painter, acquired through formal apprenticeship or equivalent training and experience.

Skills:

  • Knowledge of surface peculiarities and types of paint required for different applications.
  • Preparing surfaces for painting by washing, filling holes, and sanding until smooth.
  • Applying paint with spray gun or brush.
  • Mixing colors, oils, white lead, and other paint ingredients to obtain proper color or consistency.

Working Conditions:

  • Exposure to extreme cold and heat, noise, hazards including proximity to moving mechanical parts, electrical currents, working on scaffolding, and chemical exposure.

Physical Requirements:

  • Light work, exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds frequently.
