Lead Safety Engineer Job Summary

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Safety Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our safety department, you will be responsible for championing the project safety culture, behaviors, and engagement activities.

  • This includes reporting to the PMC Process Manager during EPC / FEED phases and working under their guidance.
  • Additionally, you will report to the Construction Manager during Construction, Precommissioning, Commissioning, and Start-up phases.

You will ensure the quality and accuracy of EPC / FEED Contractor's Loss Prevention activities, reviewing and approving contractor work to ensure compliance with contracts, standards, and industry best practices.

As a Lead Safety Engineer, you will provide safety performance data and reports to management and owners, developing and updating safety specifications and performing design validations.

Furthermore, you will review technical bid submissions and participate in safety-related reviews and analyses, as well as coordinate with other engineering disciplines and support project phases.

Your expertise will be invaluable in ensuring close-out of safety actions and reviewing bid analyses for safety disciplines.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need a BSc/BEng in a relevant engineering field, relevant experience in the Oil & Gas industry, especially in refinery or petrochemical projects.

Familiarity with FEED and EPC phases of large projects is essential, as is knowledge of fire and safety codes, standards (e.g., NFPA, API, local regulations).
