Job Summary
This role involves technical expertise in managing communication lines, trunking, cabling, switching systems, and associated equipment. The successful candidate will perform maintenance on the REDCOM IGX Switch and provide telephone services to customers serviced by the switch.

Key Responsibilities
  • Complete all service orders related to the switch.
  • Administer, operate, and maintain telephone systems according to manufacturer guidelines.
  • Update patch programming, telephone prefix, and area codes as required.
  • Troubleshoot issues with the switch and ancillary devices to restore service, including parts replacement and mechanical or programming repairs.
  • Perform remote diagnostics, replace parts/materials, provide emergency assistance, and update technical documentation.
  • Coordinate with local exchange carriers for trouble correction, new services, or upgrades.
  • Work with RNOSC to ensure DOD network compliance and coordinate telecommunication service orders.
  • Participate in performance assessments, training, and contingency operation preparations, and respond to inspection reports.
  • Maintain accurate logs, cable records, and a telephone database.
  • Verify customer satisfaction and complete reports and records.

Qualifications
  • A Secret Security Clearance is required.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required; relevant experience may substitute for education.
  • A minimum of five years' experience as a Telephone Switch Technician in telephone systems is required.
  • Completion of certified training on the REDCOM IGX Switch system is mandatory.

About this Role

This position involves working 90% office-based and 10% spent with Outside Plant personnel.

The ideal candidate will have strong problem-solving skills, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently.
