IT System Inspector

This position is located in Kuwait and supports the LOGCAP program. The successful candidate will work under the general guidance of the IT Technical Inspector, Sr.
Key Responsibilities:- Perform initial, in-progress, and final inspections on communication projects at military and contracting installations.
- Operate test equipment to ensure quality inspection for grounding.
- Collaborate with supervisors, engineers, and operations teams on all projects.
- Verify that site survey documentation is up-to-date and drawings are accurate for each project.
- Create freehand sketches of designs and trace finished drawings onto designated paper for reproduction.
- Utilize AutoCAD to communicate detailed drawings and designs when required.
- Inspect or oversee the work of assigned sub-contracts/sub-contractors.
- Enforce safety policies in daily activities.
- Minimum Qualifications: Education/Certifications
- High School Diploma.
- Telecommunication Degree Preferred.
- Must have working knowledge of fiber optic and copper cable installation.
- Must be knowledgeable in cabling diagrams, manholes, hand holes, and ducting systems.
- Military or civilian technical training and/or experience as a technical inspector desirable.
- Certification by an accredited organization and/or equipment manufacturer at the journeyman level desirable.
- Certified AutoCAD preferred.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen.
- Must meet requirements outlined in AR 25-2 for NIPRNET access.
- Must have Customer service, DOD Information Assurance Awareness, and Cross Domain Violation Training.
- Ability to obtain host country driver's license.
- Must be Secret Clearance eligible and/or ability to obtain a Secret Clearance.
- Approximately 2 - 3 years' work experience as Technical Inspector.
- Approximately 3 years' experience in communication installation.
- Knowledge in the communication infrastructure and cabling system.
- Knowledge in manhole duct assignment and measuring distance on maps.
- Knowledge in Protective Distribution System (PDS).
- Knowledgeable in reading map overlay and design, diagrams, and technical manuals.
- Familiar with North American or International Telecommunications Standards - Building Industry Consulting Services.
- International - Telecommunications Distribution Methods Manual (BICSI-TDMM), National Electrical Codes, and National Electrical Safety Codes, or their equivalent.
- Professional demeanor; work effectively with all levels of employees, including top, middle, and supervisory levels of military and civilian management.
- Customer service training.
- Discretion and good judgment.
- Collaborative work style fostering cooperation and teamwork.
- Work independently with little or no supervision.
- High-level organizational and planning skills.
- Communicate effectively, both orally and written.
- Capable of working in extreme weather conditions with temperatures exceeding 120 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Indoor and/or outdoor environment with adverse and harsh conditions.
- Light work, exerting forces occasionally and frequently.
- Heavy lifting, stooping, climbing, prolonged standing, and sitting.
- Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) required for some situations.
