Fire Inspector

This position will be based in Kuwait, supporting LOGCAP operations. As a key member of the fire prevention team, you will work under the supervision of the Assistant Chief of Fire Prevention to plan, organize, and conduct fire prevention activities throughout the region.
Responsibilities- Conduct thorough fire inspections and maintain accurate documentation of facility inspections.
- Perform plan reviews to ensure compliance with policies and Unified Facilities Criteria (UFC).
- Participate in the fire extinguisher exchange program for facilities and conduct training sessions for Facility Managers, Fire Wardens, and other personnel.
- Work with the DPW team to conduct final acceptance inspections on new construction and renovation projects.
- Maintain records on the inspection and testing of wet pipe sprinkler systems.
- Collaborate with Environmental Safety and Health (ESH) programs.
- Develop long-range goals related to the protection of personnel, facilities, materials, and equipment.
- Assist with fire investigations as required under AR 420-1 specifications.
- Education/Certifications: A high school diploma or equivalent, combined with at least five years of fire prevention experience, is required. A bachelor's degree in Fire Science is preferred.
- Certifications: Hold the required certifications IAW DOD Manual 6055.06, including Fire Inspector II, Fire Investigator, Public Fire and Life Safety Educator, Haz Mat Awareness, and others acceptable to DoD.
- Experience: Five years of related work experience is required, with a minimum of five years' experience as a Fire Inspector or Fire Prevention Specialist.
- Skills:
- Ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Strong written and spoken communication skills.
- General word processing and computer skills.
- Knowledge of occupancy classification types, fire hazards, occupant load factors, and fire department mission and organization.
- Working Conditions:
- The worker is subject to extreme cold temperatures, heat, noise, and physical hazards.
- Physical Requirements:
- Light work, exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.
