We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Database Administrator to join our IT team at LxbfYeaa.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing and maintaining our Oracle database systems, ensuring high performance, availability, and security.
This is a mid-senior level role that requires a combination of technical expertise, strategic thinking, and hands-on experience.
Key Responsibilities Database Management:
- Install, configure, and upgrade Oracle database software and related products.
- Create and maintain database instances, ensuring high levels of performance, availability, and security.
- Monitor database performance and tune the database for optimal efficiency.
- Implement and manage backup and recovery strategies.
- Manage and maintain database storage structures, tablespaces, and data files.
Security and Compliance:
- Ensure database security by implementing and managing user roles, permissions, and encryption.
- Monitor and enforce database access controls.
- Ensure compliance with university policies and regulatory requirements.
Data Integrity and Quality:
- Monitor and ensure data integrity and consistency.
- Implement and manage database replication and data distribution strategies.
- Conduct regular database audits and health checks.
Troubleshooting and Support:
- Provide 24/7 support for critical database issues and perform root cause analysis.
- Collaborate with application developers and other IT staff to resolve database-related issues.
- Develop and maintain documentation for database configurations, processes, and procedures.
Continuous Improvement:
- Identify and implement opportunities for database automation and efficiency improvements.
- Stay current with industry trends and best practices in database management and technologies.
- Participate in capacity planning and scaling efforts to meet the growing needs of the university.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- A Master's degree is a plus.
Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in Oracle database administration.
- Proven experience in managing large-scale Oracle database environments in a mission-critical setting.
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in Oracle Database 12c/19c administration.
- Strong knowledge of SQL and PL/SQL.
- Experience with Oracle RAC, ASM, Data Guard, and RMAN.
- Familiarity with database performance tuning and optimization techniques.
- Knowledge of database security practices and tools.
- Experience with Oracle Enterprise Manager and other monitoring tools.
Soft Skills:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Certifications:
- Oracle Database Administrator (DBA) certification is preferred.
