Job Overview

The British School of Kuwait (BSK) is seeking an exceptional educational leader to serve as our Phase Leader. This role requires a highly skilled and experienced individual to lead the Higher Phase in delivering outstanding academic excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Leadership: Provide visionary leadership to drive continuous improvement and innovation within the Higher Phase, ensuring alignment with whole school priorities.
  • Academic Excellence: Foster a culture of high achievement, focusing on curriculum development, teaching and learning excellence, and student progress.
  • Staff Development: Lead the recruitment, induction, and professional development of staff within the Higher Phase, promoting a supportive and collaborative environment.
  • Pastoral Care: Oversee pastoral care, wellbeing, and safeguarding initiatives, ensuring best practice and compliance with statutory requirements.
  • Communication: Develop and maintain high-quality stakeholder relationships, enhancing the reputation of the Higher Phase and the school.
  • Innovation: Encourage a culture of collaboration, professional learning, and enquiry-based approaches to drive improvement and innovation.
  • Commercial Operations: Oversee commercial and operational matters, ensuring effectiveness and efficiency within the Higher Phase.
  • Admissions and Marketing: Lead the Higher Phase team in relation to admissions, re-registration, marketing, and public relations efforts.

Requirements:

  • Qualifications: Possess a strong academic track record to degree level and hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Leadership Experience: Demonstrate a proven track record in senior leadership, with a minimum of 2-3 years' experience.
  • Professional Learning: Show a strong commitment to professional learning and development, with an in-depth understanding of effective education provision.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Be adept at developing colleagues through strong communication, coaching, and mentoring.
  • Contextual Awareness: Demonstrate awareness of current UK and international policies, developments, and statutory requirements, including safeguarding.
  • Educational Commitment: Hold a strong belief in providing high-quality education in an international setting.
  • Data Analysis: Be able to process, analyse, and use data to inform decision-making.
