Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement repair and renovation plans for electrical projects to ensure the continued operation of critical facilities.
  • Provide technical assistance and support in electrical maintenance, repair, installation, troubleshooting, and hands-on repairs.
  • Install and maintain low-voltage (480/277, 600 volts) and below (50/60 HZ) single and multi-phase power wiring, including feeder and branch circuits.
  • Ensure that all materials used meet applicable technical and safety standards.
  • Stay knowledgeable about current safety policies and procedures, as well as personal protection equipment requirements.
  • Attend periodic safety training classes related to the job description.
  • Report on equipment failures, maintenance needs, and lifecycle replacements.
  • Submit work orders for building/equipment repairs.
  • Perform weekly inspections and monthly load tests on Emergency Power Supply Systems (EPSS).
  • Respond to service calls and preventive maintenance inspections through the CMMS regarding malfunctioning/inoperable equipment.
  • Adhere to U.S. Army quality assurance procedures to ensure compliance with DoD and military specifications.
  • Contribute to engineering installation plans and Engineering Change Proposals (ECP).
  • Provide 24-hour technical support for mission-critical equipment.
  • Measure power quality and plan corrective actions for deficiencies.
  • Support U.S. Army systems onsite and deploy worldwide for contingency missions.
  • Maintain daily surveillance of equipment to ensure efficient operation.
  • Aid contractors on repair/renovation projects as required.
Qualifications
  • Candidates must hold a College, Vocational School, or High School Diploma or equivalent with a combination of 10 years of education and experience leading to licensure as a Master Electrician.
  • Or, they must have 12 years of experience in an equivalent Military Electrician training/certification.
  • The ideal candidate will be a US Citizen with Final Top-Secret Clearance based upon a TIER 5 Background Investigation, and favorable eligibility determination for access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI).
  • The role may require a Counterintelligence (CI) Scope Polygraph for certain positions or assignments.
  • The candidate should be able to maneuver in small spaces and lift up to 50lbs.
  • Knowledge of Safe Work practices is essential, particularly for energized work, working at heights, and confined spaces per OSHA regulations.
  • Technical understanding of power generation operation and maintenance is desirable, with certification from power generation manufacturers preferred.
  • The candidate should have subject matter expertise level familiarity with provisions and applications of the National Electric Code.
  • Fluency in English, including reading, writing, and comprehending technical documentation, schematics, and diagrams under ANSI standards, is essential.
  • Ability to liaise with Directorate of Public Works and BASOPS for maintenance and repairs performed to standard.
