This is a challenging position that requires the ability to perform complex repair tasks on fire control systems and optical devices. The successful candidate will have a strong background in electronics, mechanical principles, and computer skills.
The job entails performing field maintenance on laser range finders, ballistic computers, laser observation devices, laser designators, thermal imaging systems, periscopes, telescopes, commander's weapon station/auxiliary sights, aiming circles, image transfer assemblies, quadrants, mount assemblies, fire control support equipment, and test, measurement, and diagnostic equipment (TMDE). Additionally, the repairer will be responsible for diagnosing and troubleshooting malfunctions in fire control systems and related equipment at the field maintenance level.
Main Responsibilities:
- Perform complex repair tasks on fire control systems and optical devices.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot malfunctions in fire control systems and related equipment at the field maintenance level.
- Determine the nature and extent of repairs required; disassemble and examine parts and assemblies for serviceability; replace parts and assemblies as required.
- Safe use of common hand-tools and shop equipment effectively without assistance.
- Assist other employees in the proper repair maintenance procedures and capabilities of related TMDE.
- Account for bench stock items including sensitive items.
- Perform QA/QC functions such as initial, in-process and final inspections in the absence of the Technical Inspector.
