Job Description

Vectrus is a leading provider of mission support services to the US military and government agencies. As a Linux Systems Engineer Senior, you will play a critical role in ensuring the reliability and security of our clients' systems.

About the Role:

  • You will be responsible for managing and maintaining the installation and maintenance of Linux operating systems and application server configurations on various networks.
  • Your expertise will be essential in providing daily application management tasks, including troubleshooting issues, deploying changes, and optimizing performance settings.
  • You will work closely with security teams to conduct regular assessments and address vulnerabilities, ensuring that our systems meet the highest standards of security and compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Manage system/server resources, including performance, capacity, availability, serviceability, and recoverability of Linux.
  2. Perform regular system maintenance in support of IAVA vulnerabilities and CCRI compliance.
  3. Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation for Linux configurations, system architectures, and troubleshooting procedures.
  4. Collaborate with all sections to identify product requirements ensuring timely delivery of compatible systems.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience preferably in Computer Science or MIS, IS, Engineering or related field.
  • IAT Level: IAT III.
  • Baseline certifications include Cisco CCNP: Security, CompTIA CASP+, ISACA CISA, ISC2 CISSP (or Associate), GIAC GCED, and GIAC GCIH.
  • Computing Environment certifications include Red Hat Certified System Administration (RHCSA), Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE), Red Hat Certified Architect (RHCA), SUSE Certified Engineer (SCE), and Oracle Linux 8 Advanced System Administration.
  • Minimum of ten years of experience in administrative, technical work, which demonstrated the ability and aptitudes required to perform technical, managerial, or analytical work and coordination involving management information systems.
