Job Title: Oracle Database Administrator (DBA)

We are seeking a highly skilled Oracle DBA to manage, monitor, and maintain our university's Oracle database systems. The ideal candidate will ensure optimal performance, data integrity, availability, and security of the databases.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Administer, monitor, and maintain Oracle database systems to guarantee high availability, security, and performance.
  • Perform regular database tuning, health checks, and capacity planning to ensure smooth operation.
  • Implement and manage robust backup and recovery strategies using tools like RMAN and Data Pump to prevent data loss.
  • Ensure database security by managing roles, privileges, auditing, and compliance with data protection policies.
  • Create and maintain scripts in SQL and PL/SQL to automate administrative tasks and support data integrity.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues promptly to minimize downtime and ensure data accuracy.
  • Coordinate with infrastructure and application teams to support system upgrades, patching, and performance improvements.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of database configurations, processes, and procedures for future reference.
Key Requirements:
  • Proven experience as an Oracle DBA with expertise in administration, tuning, and troubleshooting.
  • A deep understanding of Oracle database architecture, backup/recovery mechanisms, and security best practices.
  • Proficiency in Oracle SQL and PL/SQL for administrative tasks and data handling.
  • Experience with Oracle tools such as RMAN, Data Pump, OEM (Oracle Enterprise Manager), and related utilities.
  • Familiarity with Oracle APEX, Forms, or Reports is a plus but not required.
  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.

The successful candidate will possess strong technical skills, excellent problem-solving abilities, and effective communication skills to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
