About the Role:
Arabnews is seeking a skilled Facility Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our operations staff, you will be responsible for overseeing the maintenance and operation of our facilities.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain and improve the performance of building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire safety, elevators, and medical gas).
- Monitor and coordinate preventive and corrective maintenance schedules with vendors and contractors.
- Ensure all facility operations comply with local and international safety regulations.
Safety Management:
The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting risk assessments and implementing corrective actions to prevent hazards. This includes maintaining fire safety equipment and conducting routine safety inspections.
Energy Efficiency:
You will optimize energy consumption and implement cost-saving strategies, monitoring HVAC performance and adjusting systems for energy efficiency.
Vendor and Contract Management:
Oversight of third-party maintenance contracts and vendor performance evaluation is also required. Timely execution of service agreements and maintenance schedules must be ensured.
Documentation and Reporting:
The successful candidate will maintain records of maintenance schedules, repairs, and inspections. They will prepare reports on facility operations, safety compliance, and equipment performance.
Emergency Preparedness:
Developing and implementing emergency response plans for power failures, floods, and fires is essential. Training staff on emergency protocols and response strategies is also required.
Requirements:
A minimum of 3–5 years of experience in facility management, preferably in a hospital or healthcare setting, is necessary for this role.
