Job Overview

Amentum is seeking an Architect to provide new construction architectural design services.

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing concept and project development, scoping, and pre-design services. They will also prepare floor plans, elevations, schematics, and renderings, as well as conduct feasibility and environmental impact studies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop final construction plans that show the building's appearance and details for its construction.
  • Comply with building codes, zoning laws, fire regulations, and other ordinances.
  • Execute necessary changes throughout the planning and design processes.
  • Conduct selected construction inspections and quality control, and review submittals.
  • Attend meetings as required.
  • Perform other qualified duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience in the design/construction field with a focus on new construction architectural services.
  • Bachelor's degree in architecture from a NAAB-accredited program.
  • Registered Architect (RA) license preferred.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD 2012 or later and other Architect-Engineer graphic software.
  • Experience in developing plans, statements of work, designs, specifications, cost estimates, and scheduling for facility engineering projects.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance; US Citizenship is required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of IBC, NFPA, NETA, NEC, and other related codes and standards.
  • Proficient using the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access), Microsoft Project, and AutoCAD.
  • Excellent communications, effective leadership, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-moving environment and as part of an engineering team.
