UH-60 Mechanic

This role involves troubleshooting malfunctions in aircraft structure, landing gear, flight surfaces and controls, anti-icing, pneudraulic, engines, auxiliary power unit, and ventilation and heating systems.

1. Remove and install aircraft subsystem assemblies and components such as engines, rotors, transmissions, mechanical flight controls and their components.
2. Service and lubricate aircraft and subsystems.
3. Safely prepare aircraft for inspections and maintenance checks and services.
4. Perform scheduled inspections and assist in performing special inspections.
5. Perform limited maintenance operational checks and diagnoses and troubleshoots aircraft systems using special tools and test equipment as required.
6. Use and perform operator maintenance on tools, special tools and aircraft ground support equipment.
7. Apply comprehensive technical expertise to solve moderate to complex problems by interpreting technical documentation such as aircraft Technical Manuals, Maintenance Information and Action Messages and all technical guidance provided through government official representatives.
8. Maintain and repair aircraft components including but not limited to flight controls, engines, hydraulics, pneumatics, fuel systems, and mechanical components.
9. Apply technical knowledge of airframe and power plant systems in determining equipment malfunctions and use required expertise in restoring equipment condition and or operation.
10. Participate in maintenance test flights and operation checks as required.
11. Perform other duties as requested.

1. High School Diploma or equivalent required.
2. A valid up-to-date FAA A&P certificate is preferred.
3. If No FAA A&P certificate; candidate Must have Three (3) years aviation maintenance experience, with a minimum of two (2) years on the assigned UH-60 Mission Design Series (MDS).
4. All experience must be within the Six (6) most recent years.
5. Must be in possession of a U.S. Passport with a min. 2 plus years validity and be able to travel internationally.
6. Must be able to obtain and maintain facility Public Trust NAC-I. Note: US Citizenship is required for facility Public Trust NAC-I at this work location.
7. Must be able to pass the CENTCOM Medical requirement to deploy.
8. Must be able to obtain Kuwait Visa.

1. General knowledge of aircraft mechanical component troubleshooting, repair procedures and replacement of parts.
2. Basic knowledge of aircraft sheet metal/structural modifications and repair.
3. General knowledge of electrical theory and a thorough knowledge of aircraft unique tools such as test equipment, torque wrenches, dial indicators, micrometers, sheet metal brakes and sheers.
4. Working knowledge of technical publications and Logistics Information Systems.
5. Able to prioritize workloads to maintain schedules on assigned projects.
6. Participate in maintenance test flights and operation checks as required.
7. Possess the level of experience to inspect all required aeronautical type maintenance to be performed by Mechanics.
8. The incumbent receives technical guidance, as required, from supervisor or higher-level technician, and may be required to make entries in aircraft logs and records.
